Work Look / Office Look 2012!!!

Yeah!!! I got a new job and I'm starting in Jan, so time to update my work look! My previous job wasn't an office job, and in fact, it was on-site, hence, I really saved a lot of cosmetics over the 2 years coz I really hardly put on any makeup, except my sun block and pressed powder.

So, now that my new job is at town area, I finally can break in my new clothes and makeup!!!

So, I have a few stick eyeshadows and found them really convenient. As per last post, I'll list down the products in order of appearance and review them!

1) Lancome Teint Miracle Instant Retouch Pen
I bought this on impulse, coz I'm a huge fan of Michelle Phan, and hence the Lancome products. This pen wasn't as smooth as I thought I saw in her videos. When I apply, it's a bit dry and I have difficulty spreading them. If apply them after eye cream, it spread a lot more easier.

But the coverage is good, and although it appears whitish at first, the color soon blend to a skin color, and it brightens the area, hence it's good as a highlighter too.

Personally, I had not try the YSL pen, will compare them should I buy it one day. Heard lots of rave reviews about it.

2) The Face Shop FaceIt BB Sun Balm SPF50 + The Body Shop Foundation Brush
This sun balm was a curious purchase, coz I had always used tube BB creams and I thought the compact sun BB balm was interesting. BIG MISTAKE! It was a pain in the ass coz I had to use brush to apply, so that I won't contaminate the compact so much. I didn't use the sponge provided coz it is such a waste to suck blobs of BB bream stuck inside the sponge. Packaging wise, not so smart.

The product itself, is wonderful. It is less oily compared to the early generation BB creams, had better coverage too. As you can see in the video, it spreads smoothly when apply with brush, so I guess if we spread with our fingers, it will glide better and smoother after warming the cream with the heat from the fingers. However, wait till it came out as a pump bottle will be even better! Like all BB creams, it makes the face look a bit too white.

As for the brush, normal lor... nothing much. I find the brush a bit too big.

3) The Balm Sexy Mama Invisible Anti-Shine Powder + The Body Shop Mineral Foundation Brush
This is one good impulse purchase. I was looking for powder after I finished my I Nuovi Immaculate Powder, and I saw this at Sa Sa. I was attracted to the packaging, coz Sexy Ma Ma. I do feel that my face is less oily. Being a translucent powder, it doesn't give a ashy color to my face, in fact,it gives a nice warm color to it.

See how my face warm up after I apply?

I think I mention this mineral powder brush before, it's my favourite.

4) Anna Sui Eye Brightener (Heh, what's new? I always use this)
IDunnoIfYouSickOfMeTalkingAboutThis. It's my favourite eye product, coz I find it so multipurpose! It brighten, highlight the eyes yet it could cover some dark eye rings.

5) TheBodyShop Eyeshadow in Vanilla Cream (No. 13) + EcoTools Eyeshadow Brush
I was looking for a dupe to my Bobbi Brown Navajo eyeshadow coz I was too lazy to keep unzipping the palette to use just one color. So I saw that this colour was pretty similar.

The Body Shop is famous for it's bath items and not makeup, so let's not grade this too high. Powder is a bit chalky, but the color is good, at least for me.

I love the EcoTools Brushes,so soft!

6) Kate Lasting Color Eye in GY-1
I bought this color I wanted a "gunmetal" color after seeing Urban Decay Naked Palette. This one contains a little glitter, but after spreading it, the color isn't so intense and I think it is perfect for day time look, with a little bling on the eyes,m kinda wake the look a bit. To glam it up for night look, just bring this stick shadow and darken it. Very convenient and versatile!

7) Lancome Crayon Kohl Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in Raisin Noir (Finally got the name right from online)
The kohl itself spreads easily, despite being waterproof, but not sebum proof, coz it still smudge when my eye lids turn oily. The sponge is a pain, too stiff and hurts when I try to smudge my eyeliner with it. Prefer the Rimmel one.

Update: If u read the last post, I was kinda contradicting myself with this. I think the difference was the eye cream, which makes application smoother, but smudge faster too... Well, we can't have the best of both worlds, right?

8) Maybelline Unstoppable Eyebrow Pencil
Nah, just an eyebrow pencil.

9) Benefit Blush in Coralista + EcoTools Powder Brush
After using it, I know why Coralista is such a popular blush! It's so nice, on any skin tone! It has shimmer, hence it gives a glow to the cheeks as well. And it smells nice too! I'm converting to be a Benefit Cosmetics fan!!!

10) Benefit Lip Gloss in Friends in High Places (My new favourite lip gloss!!!)
I'm not a lipgloss person, coz I find them too sticky. So far, my last love was the Clarins Sorbet. I finally found somethin better! While the color looked very raspberry, it is in fact very sheer, gives a nice subtle glow to the lips, smells nice and not sticky!

I think I'm really getting good at editing video and writing post. I finish this one in 4 hrs! And reviewing the products on each tutorial is better too, since I will remember my thoughts when I was using them!

Hope you pple like this arrangement! I'm translating an article of bad habits of skin, will post it up soon!

Purple Romance

I know I mentioned in the video, in the info box, but I still like to say one more time, I did this look for attending my friend's wedding.

Since, I pretty much described the products in the info box, I thought I share my thoughts on the products, i.e reviewing them.

1) Benefit Porelessional
This is my first wax based makeup primer, which I think is a lot better than the makeup base, the kind which has different color tones to correct your skin color and comes with SPF, which was rather popular a few years back.
Because of its wax content, it makes the makeup sweat and sebum proof. My face looked less oily and my makeup stayed up longer. My sister who has dry skin, has no problem using it, but do moisturizer your face before applying.

2) Lancome Tient Miracle Foundation + Makeup Show Flat Top Foundation Brush
This is so gonna be my favorite foundation if not for the fact that it doesn't come with lots of shades. I had to take the PO-03, which is the lightest pink shade, and it kinda looked ridiculously on me because my neck is so dark.  Now I don't really care about the "Must match neck colour" coz I get dark easily now these days (What's up with the Singapore sun?) I just use whenever I feel like using it. On a sidenote, my Armani foundation which used to be so dark for turned out to be perfect shade for me now. Even my Bobbi Brown is light for me... Must get fairer!!!

Anyway, reasons for liking it was because I don't feel a thing on my face!!! It makes my skin looked damn good too! I think these 2 reasons are enough for me to like it... Other plus points, it is very easy to apply, despite being so watery, people with dry skin or combination skin can use it.

Can see my face is a little fairer than my neck.
And if u thinking why the top is different from the vid, it's because I changed another outfit after the makeup.

I bought the makeup brush coz it was round. It was pretty stiff at first but after a few applications and washes, it got seasoned and now it is my favorite brush to apply foundation. The hair is very soft, and it get into the sides of my nose pretty well.

3) Lancome Maquicake UV Infinite and TBS Mineral Foundation Brush
I don't like this powder. Period. No matter whether it was applying with brush or sponge, I can feel a thick layer of powder on me, totally different from what they promised, a lightweight foundation. It is a 2-way cake, but I never like water sponging my foundation coz I think it is super dirty. I always use it to cover over my BB cream or Lancome Teint Miracle, lightweight foundation that is. I never tried apply on its own before... hmm.. maybe I should do that and see the effect. Soon soon! Or maybe I use too much??? But I don't think I use that much powder leh...

So, I used it only when I know I had to take photos coz the powder is matt, and matt powder is super good for photos coz it doesn't show shine and makes the face oily. It is sweatproof tho, tried wearing it on a hot day and it didn't budge so much.

I can't mention how many times, but this is my favourite powder brush! It is dense, thick and soft. I can pat it like a sponde and run it on my face like a carpet cleaner. Feels good like a massage. Ha ha. I have a few powder brushes but I keep going back for this one.

4) I Nuovi Eye Base
I bought this because every youtube guru was using an eye primer, so I bought while I was at I Nuovi. I Nuovi is a Singapore homegrown brand. The products apparently had the colours made in France but porduced somewhere la. Need to google more about this coy. Anyway, I quite like the texture, water-to-powder kind. No need to use a lot, coz if use too much, it will look cakey on the eyes.

It does bring out the colour definitely, just see the difference on the colours in this vid and the Vday vid. Looked so much better here, finally bring some grace to this palette.

5) Artistry Silver Makeup Eye and Cheek Palette + Lancome Eyeshadow Brush + in-house dual tips brush+ EcoTools Eyeshadow Brush

The colours need to be showed with help with an eye base, but nonetheless, the power has a nice texture and it doesn't crumble so much.

6) Lancome Waterproof Pencil Eyeliner in Noir
Hmm... a bit hard, need to warm it up before I can draw a smooth line across the eye. It's waterproof, but not sebum proof, so better dust more powder under the eyes to prevent smudging.

7) Lancome Liquid Eyeliner in Noir
Like the pencil, it is just water proof. I expect it to be more potent in its smudge resistant power, but it just go panda eyes on me once my lids is a bit oily. The tip is soft though, pretty easy to control and draw.

8) Maybelline Unstoppable Eyebrow Pencil
Well, just a normal eyebrow pencil. I could do with shadows too, but I'm lazy to use a brush. What I like is the spoolie on the cap so that I can brush my brows. A very common feature in brow pencil.

9) Some cheap eyelash curler I bought donkey years ago, but it is very good for me!
As long as it doesn't bite my lids, is good. I had a free Maybelline eyelash curler which sucks so bad!!!

10) I Nuovi Pro Lash Nu 01 and glue that came with it.
I love this lashes! It is a very natural pair of lash which covers just 3/4 of the eyes. The fibre isn't too stiff and it fits easily to the eyes. However, upon long usage, the bone does go haywire a bit. I reuse it a few times, roughly 4 times.

11) Blush from Artistry and Ecotools Blush Brush
Like the eyeshadow, the texture of the powder is soft and doesn't crumble easily. The color seemed to suit most skin tones but not yellow tones I think.

My favourite blush brush, so soft! Was very tempted to buy the big powder brush of this brand, but a bit too expensive in SG, IMO for something that is so affordable in US.

12) Benefit Bad Gal Lashes
It's not waterproof, but it does give an amazing wing out lashes.

13) Chanel Lipstick in Comedienne
So love this color, matches any eyeshadow colour. Looked good on its own. Love the name even more, coz this is so me.

LOL, my review got shorter and shorter coz I'm tired!! And what a long post! Hope this info is useful for you pple!
