Hyperventilate!

I bought NAKED 3!!!!

And Stila Trilogy Palettes.

Needless to say, Naked has kinda become the holy grail of natural makeup palette, this time in rose hues, for $83
.
Stila Trilogy is a very worthy product. 3 different palettes, 15 different eyeshadows, 3 blush colors, for the price of SGD35!!!

Now scream: WHAT!!!!

It's flying off the shelf, get it asap! ION Sephora having sale on 21/12/2013, Saturday. Don't say I no say ah. The quality of the eyeshadows and blushes are good, not too chalky.

I have to really buck up on my tutorials soon.

Scream: WE WANT COLOR SWATCHES!!!

I have so many things to feedback, but I will do a swatch for the palette soon. I procrastinate too much. I have a smart phone and a good app, why am I still so lazy in posting? :P

Etude House Rose Flowering Eyes eyeshadow palette

Despite being as poor as a sheep without its wool, I just couldn't resist this eyeshadow palette while doing window  shopping around in JEM.
Used the palette a few times and on my sister. My verdict is..... value for money for 10 colors, quality wise is like a normal eyeshadow you'll get from Korean brands. The intensity of the colors are just right for simple users, but for someone who's used to brands like M.A.C and Make Up For Ever, I don't really like how soft the colors are, except for the red. Is good for neutral looks, another typical trait of Korean brands.
Texture of the eyeshadow is too chalky! Every time I pick the eyeshadows, fallouts are inevitable, which annoys me a bit, but I'll live with it.
The packaging is slim and small enough to put in clutch or purse. It also contains 2 dual ended sponge eyeshadow applicators, which one side is slightly bigger, for applying all over the lids, and a smaller tip for intensifying. Not a big fan of sponge, so no comments on it.
All in all, it's value for what's it's worth. Furthermore Etude House was having promotion when I bought it, which was another reason why I bought it. Primary reason was I love the red color, supposedly to be inspired by rose lah! So I bought it at $29.90, $5 discount. Not sure if promotion is still available.
So, to really make the eyeshadows colors pop, I'll suggest a good eyeshadow base. My I Nuovi eyeshadow base didn't bring justice to the colors.
Topdown: Poison, Gloomy, Petal, BLossom, Romance, Pure, Delight, Innocent, Fade, Falling
Top of the case
The box
L-R: Falling, Fade, Innocent, Delight, Pure, Romance, Blossom, Petal, Gloomy, Poison.
I love using Falling from lid to crease, Fade as transition color, Innocent and Pure as highlighter. Delight, Romance and Petal are nice for lid colors too, and Gloomy and Poison I always used them as crease colors, especially when I do the "Bananas" technique. See here for more eyeshadows techniques!

Pony's makeup CD

A customer gave this to me after I asked where to get the book! Was super grateful lah, so I gave her a sample of our best foundation product.

Watched the CD last night, it wasn't the digital version of the book, just a few clips of the more popular looks and basic makeup.  This Pony is good! Totally explained why and how we should do. Gonna try the tips later!

Essence makeup

I first saw Essence at BHG bishan and because the handcream was super cheap, I bought it coz I just need to buy something.

The second time I saw it was at Freidburg, in a supermart, it has all the cosmetic range and it was super cheap too! So I bought the concealer palette since MUFE palette was out of my budget.

The third time I saw Essence was at Watson at Jem. For a moment I thought this brand looked familiar, unable to register the handcream and palette with it. Anyway, I thought the eyeshadows looked really nice, but I didn't test them.

So while I was roaming at City Square Mall, I went to play with the eyeshadows.

IT WAS GORGEOUS!!!!!

Essence essentially erase my prejudice with cheap stuffs = lousy products!

Each eyeshadow pot cost S$3.50, I could buy all the colours and it won't be more than S$50!!! And the pot size is almost similar to MUFE eyeshadow, but quality is almost same.

Essence also have eyeshadow palette and it is S$6.50 each. I'll go for the individual eyeshadow anytime.

I didn't know I can't take photos, so I managed to take some before I was stopped. I don't understand this no photo restriction. Wouldn't it boost Watson's sale since it seemed to be available exclusive there. I don't know if BHG carries the makeup coz I only remember seeing the handcream.

There are 16 colours for the individual eyeshadows. Sorry for the lousy angle, I'll try to swatch it soon!

Invisible meal competition

I finally started on somewhat healthy eating for my lunch today, yong tau foo soup with kuay tiao. Mostly veggie and tofu, and I was feeling pleased that I curbed my unhealthy food desire.

Then, the skinny biatch behind me took less items than me and ordered soup only, no noodles no bee hoon. As I took my bowl of kuay tiao, she peered into my tray and I could see an invisible tsk on me. As if she was saying "I win you on healthy eating, kuay tiao fattening leh" And all my good feel went away and now I actually felt bad for eating kuay tiao.

WTF, thou shalt not influence by thee other asshole. It's day 1 for  me, I shall persevere!!!

M.a.c brush 231

This is a limited edition brush. Didn't know it was limited edition till my colleague told me during training.

Had to get her to help me get it and I specially travel down to Bugis to take it from her. Felt pretty bad that she delayed her lunch break for me. And for this brush, I missed going to the job fair today.  Damn it... supposed to go in the morning, but i overslept. And i rather go gym also, shows how much I'm involved in my future. Tsk...

Anyway, this brush is good for lip application as well as highlighting the tear ducts area since it's so small. Am happy to add one more M.a.c brush to my collection!

Update on Tony Moly foot mask

As you can see, both my feet are in shedding state. I like to rub my feet together and shed all those dead skin cells. :P

The peeling started from the top first, then the toes, before the callous at the heel shed. It's been a week now, I wonder if by next week it will be baby skin smooth.

Till next update!

Tony Moly Foot Mask

Finally decided to use this foot mask which I purchase in 2011 during Korea trip.

Verdict:
Steps wise, very troublesome. I had to pour the liquid into the pouch,  unlike other foot masks where the content is already inside the pouches. Being the klutz I am, the floor had a peel session too.

The peeling liquid is very minty and cooling. Albeit, a bit too watery for my liking. I was expecting gel texture.

Will update results of peeling. Box said I'll get smooth feet in 2 weeks time. Let's see about that.

Make Up Forever Academy Singapore

Hi Everyone! I'm back!

Really sorry for the lack of updates. Been really unmotivated. Wasn't too happy in my last 2 jobs.

Am hunting for new job now, and while on job search, I signed up for makeup course at Makeup Forever Academy in Singapore! Like finally, it has been on the back of my mind for almost 2 years now.

I love~ love~ love~ my classmates and the lessons! It's 2 weeks for full time, and I'm learning so much!

Best part, I'm actually being recognized for my skills and will be taking part in a fashion event end of this month! Out of a class of 6, 3 will be selected. I already know who's the other one, not sure about the 3rd. Had an inkling, but not sure yet.

Today we did artistic paintings. I drew butterflies and the director was impressed. Then I tried to draw a flower, and I failed miserably. Director cleaned it up for me and told me to draw more butterflies (she said flowers... -_-|||)

And before that, she asked if I did nail art before, I answered, no. And I don't why I started laughing uncontrollably and the model beside joking said Art and Craft for me... ha... Stupid... I always had this stupid behavior on when someone from he top management talked to me... so uncool..

My classmates are very international, there's Denmark, Bangladesh, Indonesians and China (he's Sg now). Other than the guy who drew rather awkwardly, the rest showed their national identities in the drawing. The Denmark was very flowery and clean, the Indonesians had very batik feel, the Bangladesh had bindi art, and for me, it was very Chinese / Japanese painting. Ha ha, that's how the director describe.

What do u think? =)

Sorry for the lack of vids!!!

Hi All

Ever since I quit my job in June, my acne had also miraculously disappeared!

That also means I sleep a lot too, maybe that's why the acne healed.

I was travelling in both July and August, hence the lack of videos...

I'll be doing clubbing makeup next, coz I've been clubbing a lot in and of August and September, so what better makeup to show other than clubbing??

I'll use the template temporarily until I find a good one. Something was wrong with the previous template, the alignment was all wrong. Chatterbox also gone...

Till then!

Too Faced Glamour To Go Dream Edition

Update:
Here's the picture of the palette I bought. I really like this palette, the size of my palm contains 8 shadows, a blush, bronzer and lip gloss. This was a 2011 collection.

I love all the colors, however, they are very chalky. When I dipped my brush to pickup the colors, there were major fallout. And I really hate mess.

Out of the 8, only the brown one was matt, the rest was very glittery. Combined with it's chalky texture, it doesn't makes application fun at all. The only redeeming factor was the eye shadows colors are really deep, especially the brown one, so light hand is preferred.

I love love love the blush, it may looked very pink, but it actually gives a natural blushing effect. It reminds me of Benefit's Coralista which I love so much. I hated the glitter though, same for the bronzer. Why do they want to put glitter in bronzer?

Haven't try the lip gloss yet. Will update on it soon.

I bought a Too Faced mini makeup palette for SGD30, because I was going clubbing tonight and I had no makeup with me.

I didn't use in the end. -_-|||

Anyhow, I do like the eyeshadows and blush colours!

I'm such a spendthrift

I whacked about $130 during watsons members' sale, thinking "this will be my last horde".

I whacked another $100 at The Face Shop yesterday.

Tsk Tsk Tsk.

I bought so many bottles of toners from these 2 sale, I think it is able to last me till June.

Still have a lot of unopened moisturizers and essence...

Opps...

I should just take $10 everyday, seriously.

List of items I bought:
Loreal WHitening Toner
Loreal Aqua Fresh Toner
Loreal UV Makeup Base
Berocca (at least this is something I eat everyday)
Rachel Kum CC Cream

TFS Clean Face Toner
TFS  Clean Face Emulsion
TFS  Clean Face Whitening
TFS Oil Control Essence
TFS Dual Oil-Cut BB
TFS Clean Face MAsks x 4 sheets

Can see that I'm a sucker for anti-acne products. Bo pian, been breaking out rather badly lately. So laying off cosmetics for a while.

Miss making videos actually.

Cute Blog Award

Thanks Kusanigi for tagging me, actually, I still have no idea what this is... but I just want to answer the questions!!!!

 For this award you:
1. Link back to the person who nominated you.
2. Answer the award questions.
3. Tell something about yourself you haven't told anyone on your blog yet.
4. Award as many blogs that you think are worthy of this award.
5. Make sure you let those you gave the award to know that you awarded them.

 Award Questions:
1. What is your go-to makeup product? Hmm... It changes every now and then... Currently I think it's the sun-block + pressed/loose powder. I need it so that my face stays matt longer in Singapore's hot weather now. It's so humid now, it may rain but weather's still hot! So sunblock + powder is a must!

 2. What was your favorite fashion trend of 2011? Hmm.... I don't follow fashion trends much... I like the trend where we were all having fun wearing vests, was it last year?

 3. What is your favorite dessert? Anything cold and chocolate. We have hot desserts here in case you're wondering.

 4. Favorite color? Born purple, die purple. Sometimes red.

 5. What is your middle name? I give myself "Funny", but I don't have a middle name.

 6. What was the last song you listened to? hmm... Glee's version of Billionaire.

Something you don't know about me yet: The whole word knows I'm a little OCD. I'm also a shopaholic. Other than beauty products, I also love shoes, bags, clothes, accessories ! So imagine OCD + Shopaholic, it means I spent my Sundays categorizing them. I actually categorized my clothes according to colors followed by office or casual wear. Jackets, cardigans and office bottoms go to the other side of my wardrobe, which I did the same categorizing. Thankfully, I have only less than 5 bottoms. My jeans are all folded and placed under my tops so that I can easily match them.

Tagged! Kusanigi- Can I do this tagged back? Does this work the more tags the better?

Beauty Buys Items and Reviews

Hi everyone! So, here's the list on beauty purchase I bought in the past 2-3 weeks... Seriously, I'm so gonna throw my credit card at home...

RMK

Clockwise from left: Skin Tuner Smoother Light, Sprinkling Eyes in 03, Creamy Polished base in  02,  Face Powder Ex in 02
Skin Tuner Smmother, S$60: We tried this during the workshop, and I love its fruity fragrance. My skin did feel less dehydrated after application. Never really thought much about toners, usually I just want to clear the debris on my face. I bought this one as it doubles up as moisturizer, so one less step for me in the morning.

This is a multipurpose product. Works as toner + moisturizer. I believe this one is for combi to oily skin.

Face Powder EX in 02, S$72: This must be the most expensive loose powder I ever bought. Actually, I wanted the pressed powder, I didn't check that it was actually loose powder. I never like loose powder because the powder will fly everywhere. However, when I opened it up, I love how the sift is rubber with slits, instead of the usual holes kind. I tried the pressed version during the workshop, so I can't really comment on how this is. However, if it's not too different, then it shouldn't too bad. The pressed powder was quite fine and easy to apply, so this loose powder shouldn't be too far from it. I had tried Bobbi Brown's pressed powder and I don't like it, it actually felt rough for me.

I love how the elegant design of this compact except its size. It has a smooth rounded corners and the material doesn't feel too plastic. The puff itself is very soft to the touch. I'm not good at explaining, but I like the chrome gold color and how it looked metallic without being too hard looking.

I love how elegant the compact case looks, however, it's a bit fat

How it looks inside, with the powder puff

It has slits in the rubber sift, as compared to other loose powder compact which has round holes . I like this better.

Sprinkling Eyes in 03, S$76: The eye palette I bought is limited edition for the Spring Collection. During the workshop, while most people tried the default green palette the MA from Japan was testing, I went for the purple! I had always been a purple person, so although green suits everyone, I go for purple.

Seriously, it looked so pretty!  And after I applied it, the RMK assistant MA were all gushing how gorgeous it looks on my eyes! It really shamed the other purple colors I had.

Th design of the compact is very reflective, and also fingerprints attractor. They should have stick to the design they had for the loose powder, rounded edges. Case aside, I like the brush applicator that came with. All makeup should go for brush seriously, sponge is so hard on the skin, no? I never like sponge applicator, and I still don't understand why I bought The Body Shop eye sponge brush.

The very vain compact for all girls! Mirror outside! Super reflective! Had a hard time taking it without showing myself inside! Kept shifting my hands!

The colors! My camera can't capture how gorgeous it actually looks!

Creamy Polished Base in 02, S$58: This is a makeup base, and it's almost as good as my Benefit Porefessional. It comes with different shades, so you can find a suitable shade to even out skin tone. My makeup did last whole day, for almost 10 hours! The workshop was at 11am, and I had it on until 10pm.

In my opinion, probably can skip foundation when going for natural look.
I love this base! Evens out my skin as it is tinted!

The free gifts I got for purchasing more than S$300. I just love travel size products! The products are arranged from skin care to makeup.
L_R: Cleansing Milk (top), Cleansing Gel, Creamy Soap, Skin Tuner Smoother Moist (this one is for dry skin), UV Face Protection (top), Recovery Gel (night treatment), Creamy Polished base, Smoothing Polished Base (satchels),   Liquid Foundation in 102
Free gifts!

I absolutely love the nail polish! All I need is one coat and it gives a beautiful finish! This color is Sh04 - Shiny Rose. Superb!

Nail Color EX. Door gift! Given when we signed up as early birds.

Paul & Joe
Peel-Off Mask, S$30: P&J was having sale, how can I missed it? There were makeup and skincare. I tried their makeup remover (cleansing milk) before, and it was not bad. So I thought why not try their peel-off mask. I love peel-off masks not only it was fun, I like the sensation of how tight my skin feels after. I tried the Missha Orange Peel-Off mask before, my first and last. I also bought a BioEssence one last year, but I haven't tried it. Will do reviews of course, after I used them.

Paul & Joe Peel-Off mask

The pretty tube!

SK-II
SK-II was promoting this special set, so I thought I "go take a look", which ended up as "to go and buy". Ha ha. It was pretty rush for me, coz I was meeting my friend for dinner at 7.30, my facial finished at around 7.15. So from seeing to buying took less than 10 minutes.

Facial Treatment Essence, S$209: I've been using the FTE for almost a year, I'm still waiting to get that clarity I see in TVC leh. Clarity aside, I actually had less breakouts. After using Lancome Genefique and then stopped using, my face was breaking out here and there, got worse during PMS. It got better after I used this, so I kinda stick to it. Not to mention it is bigger size and cheaper.

(However, I bought the Genefique and Visionnaire last year, supposedly to work better for my skin, let's see. Gonna try them after I finished with my current FTE.)

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence Special Edition

Cate Blanchett's signature

Pretty!

Aura Whitening Set, S$199: Did you see how Michelle Phan's skin glow with just applying the Cellumination? Ok, I'm am a sucker and I admit it. Anyway, it's a promo set, so I might as well get it. Free mask and FTE 30ml. I hope my skin becomes smooth and fair like them after using.

I'm obviously dying to get skin like Cate's!

L-R: Facial Treatment Essence 30ml, Whitening Masl, Cellumination Essence EX

Out of box
These are the free gifts (travel size), other than the Emulsion which was given for pruchasing more than $400, the rest was part of the package when buying the FTE 215ml.

L-R: Facial Treatment Cleansing Gel x 2, FT Gentle Cleanser, FT Clear Lotion (toner), FTE, Faial Lift Emulsion, Cellumination Deep Surge
Free gifts! Temptation!

Chanel Mini Brush Set, S$130: Ever since Chanel Beauty Boutique hit ION, I'm always tempted to go in! That is really a prime location, right outside then gantry, and people will always be greeted by their luminously lit shop. This brush set must have been launched for almost 2 months, and I always tell myself whenever I walked past, "No more brushes, I have enough". Gave in when I realized I still have budget for shopping this month. Damn, should have saved it for upcoming HK trip... Anyway, I don't regret buying. coz the brushes are so soft! The pouch is so practical too! Other than having the slots for the brushes, it has a compartment to keep cosmetics. This travel set is really for travel! In the past, I always had to have a separate bag for my makeup other than bringing the brushes. This is really convenient! And it's S$130 for 6 mini brushes, way cheaper than my Bobbi Brown Travel Set. BB was my first set of high end makeup brushes, and it costs S$220 2 years ago. After that, it never come up with any sets with 6 brushes, only 4, and usually at S$160 I think. Not to mention, the pouch was pretty but nothing, I still love BB brushes, but not the pouch.

Okay, that' all for my beauty buys. Gonna bring food from home to work next 2 months liao, save $$$$!
Now, I'm also tempted to do a blog on all my current beauty products that are still sitting in my drawer. Heh heh. I have so much!

How to make my own face charts

Hi everybuddy! It's been almost a month since I last update this blog! So sorry, it's CNY period over here in Singapore (and the rest of Asia countries who celebrate CNY), so it was busy busy busy! We had so much to do before CNY, such as cleaning the house, throwing away unwanted and old stuff (or donate them away), and making CNY lanterns and goodies!!!

I did do a CNY look, but it was so so so so awful, that I can't bring myself to upload. I was out of focus most of the time, colours not clear due to lighting, and I had no idea what I was doing actually, blending colours anyhow.

Most of my tutorials, I had the colours and steps in mind, and then I film the tutorial on a whim. As I flim more vids, I expect more from me each time. I just felt that the standard isn't there, and really, I never do a preview before. Hence, I thought I want to practise the look on a face chart instead of on myself, mainly because I'm lazy to wash my makeup. LOL. Another reason is because dolling myself up in the middle of the time is ridiculous and I don't want my mum to ask me why when she sees me. Lately, she will sleep on my bed first, before she goes back to her room, so there's a high chance she's see me in my makeup and I don't really want that.

So, as usual, being cheapo (Who doesn't want to save money and then spend them on more makeup!!!!), I don't want to buy and I also don't know where to get it. I can't possibly go M.A.C counters and ask for face charts since I'm not a qualified makeup artist, so I thought of printing my own. It's really easy to do, all you need is drawing paper. Drawing paper is better than the normal paper as the quality is thicker, and the rough grains help to hold on to the color better. That's why we have drawing paper right?

I still have my old drawing papers back from secondary school, as I never touched them after I went to Sec. 3. Old as it may be, it is still clean and crisp. So I cut it into half, and then I just put it in the printer and start to print. I was very excited, coz it looked and felt just like the face chart I always used when I went for Bobbi Brown makeup workshop!

The moment I printed it I started to play the colors on it!
It's like back to my colouring books, except that it's all this famous M.A.C face now. I had printed another face chart and I like it better, no idea which brand it's from. However, I have not create anything on it yet.

I think she looks less fierce, and I like how she has one eye close, then I can play the look on both types of eyes.
However, both are not my face shapes and I don't think anyone uses round for face charts. Notice how both  face charts have the most sought after almond shape? So, I googled somemore and I saw this really cool website where you can make you own face charts! All it did was to change your picture into sketch. I had Gimp, but I don't like to use it. Using the web app is so much faster. The only thing is, to save the picture, you need to right-click, and select 'save as'. Not too much to ask for if you wanna save money as the save option is for paid members.

I can even test hair color now. =) If there's drawing paper that matches my skin color, perfect!
I think I need to take a shot of myself one eye closed. ;)

Here is the link to make a sketch of your picture:
http://www.dumpr.net/sketch.php

I might do a vid on this... =)
