Hi everybuddy! It's been almost a month since I last update this blog! So sorry, it's CNY period over here in Singapore (and the rest of Asia countries who celebrate CNY), so it was busy busy busy! We had so much to do before CNY, such as cleaning the house, throwing away unwanted and old stuff (or donate them away), and making CNY lanterns and goodies!!!
I did do a CNY look, but it was so so so so awful, that I can't bring myself to upload. I was out of focus most of the time, colours not clear due to lighting, and I had no idea what I was doing actually, blending colours anyhow.
Most of my tutorials, I had the colours and steps in mind, and then I film the tutorial on a whim. As I flim more vids, I expect more from me each time. I just felt that the standard isn't there, and really, I never do a preview before. Hence, I thought I want to practise the look on a face chart instead of on myself, mainly because I'm lazy to wash my makeup. LOL. Another reason is because dolling myself up in the middle of the time is ridiculous and I don't want my mum to ask me why when she sees me. Lately, she will sleep on my bed first, before she goes back to her room, so there's a high chance she's see me in my makeup and I don't really want that.
So, as usual, being cheapo (Who doesn't want to save money and then spend them on more makeup!!!!), I don't want to buy and I also don't know where to get it. I can't possibly go M.A.C counters and ask for face charts since I'm not a qualified makeup artist, so I thought of printing my own. It's really easy to do, all you need is drawing paper. Drawing paper is better than the normal paper as the quality is thicker, and the rough grains help to hold on to the color better. That's why we have drawing paper right?
I still have my old drawing papers back from secondary school, as I never touched them after I went to Sec. 3. Old as it may be, it is still clean and crisp. So I cut it into half, and then I just put it in the printer and start to print. I was very excited, coz it looked and felt just like the face chart I always used when I went for Bobbi Brown makeup workshop!

The moment I printed it I started to play the colors on it! |
It's like back to my colouring books, except that it's all this famous M.A.C face now. I had printed another face chart and I like it better, no idea which brand it's from. However, I have not create anything on it yet.

I think she looks less fierce, and I like how she has one eye close, then I can play the look on both types of eyes. |
However, both are not my face shapes and I don't think anyone uses round for face charts. Notice how both face charts have the most sought after almond shape? So, I googled somemore and I saw this really cool website where you can make you own face charts! All it did was to change your picture into sketch. I had Gimp, but I don't like to use it. Using the web app is so much faster. The only thing is, to save the picture, you need to right-click, and select 'save as'. Not too much to ask for if you wanna save money as the save option is for paid members.

I can even test hair color now. =) If there's drawing paper that matches my skin color, perfect! |
I think I need to take a shot of myself one eye closed. ;)
Here is the link to make a sketch of your picture:

I might do a vid on this... =)
