Work Look / Office Look 2012!!!

Yeah!!! I got a new job and I'm starting in Jan, so time to update my work look! My previous job wasn't an office job, and in fact, it was on-site, hence, I really saved a lot of cosmetics over the 2 years coz I really hardly put on any makeup, except my sun block and pressed powder.

So, now that my new job is at town area, I finally can break in my new clothes and makeup!!!

So, I have a few stick eyeshadows and found them really convenient. As per last post, I'll list down the products in order of appearance and review them!

1) Lancome Teint Miracle Instant Retouch Pen
I bought this on impulse, coz I'm a huge fan of Michelle Phan, and hence the Lancome products. This pen wasn't as smooth as I thought I saw in her videos. When I apply, it's a bit dry and I have difficulty spreading them. If apply them after eye cream, it spread a lot more easier.

But the coverage is good, and although it appears whitish at first, the color soon blend to a skin color, and it brightens the area, hence it's good as a highlighter too.

Personally, I had not try the YSL pen, will compare them should I buy it one day. Heard lots of rave reviews about it.

2) The Face Shop FaceIt BB Sun Balm SPF50 + The Body Shop Foundation Brush
This sun balm was a curious purchase, coz I had always used tube BB creams and I thought the compact sun BB balm was interesting. BIG MISTAKE! It was a pain in the ass coz I had to use brush to apply, so that I won't contaminate the compact so much. I didn't use the sponge provided coz it is such a waste to suck blobs of BB bream stuck inside the sponge. Packaging wise, not so smart.

The product itself, is wonderful. It is less oily compared to the early generation BB creams, had better coverage too. As you can see in the video, it spreads smoothly when apply with brush, so I guess if we spread with our fingers, it will glide better and smoother after warming the cream with the heat from the fingers. However, wait till it came out as a pump bottle will be even better! Like all BB creams, it makes the face look a bit too white.

As for the brush, normal lor... nothing much. I find the brush a bit too big.

3) The Balm Sexy Mama Invisible Anti-Shine Powder + The Body Shop Mineral Foundation Brush
This is one good impulse purchase. I was looking for powder after I finished my I Nuovi Immaculate Powder, and I saw this at Sa Sa. I was attracted to the packaging, coz Sexy Ma Ma. I do feel that my face is less oily. Being a translucent powder, it doesn't give a ashy color to my face, in fact,it gives a nice warm color to it.

See how my face warm up after I apply?

I think I mention this mineral powder brush before, it's my favourite.

4) Anna Sui Eye Brightener (Heh, what's new? I always use this)
IDunnoIfYouSickOfMeTalkingAboutThis. It's my favourite eye product, coz I find it so multipurpose! It brighten, highlight the eyes yet it could cover some dark eye rings.

5) TheBodyShop Eyeshadow in Vanilla Cream (No. 13) + EcoTools Eyeshadow Brush
I was looking for a dupe to my Bobbi Brown Navajo eyeshadow coz I was too lazy to keep unzipping the palette to use just one color. So I saw that this colour was pretty similar.

The Body Shop is famous for it's bath items and not makeup, so let's not grade this too high. Powder is a bit chalky, but the color is good, at least for me.

I love the EcoTools Brushes,so soft!

6) Kate Lasting Color Eye in GY-1
I bought this color I wanted a "gunmetal" color after seeing Urban Decay Naked Palette. This one contains a little glitter, but after spreading it, the color isn't so intense and I think it is perfect for day time look, with a little bling on the eyes,m kinda wake the look a bit. To glam it up for night look, just bring this stick shadow and darken it. Very convenient and versatile!

7) Lancome Crayon Kohl Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in Raisin Noir (Finally got the name right from online)
The kohl itself spreads easily, despite being waterproof, but not sebum proof, coz it still smudge when my eye lids turn oily. The sponge is a pain, too stiff and hurts when I try to smudge my eyeliner with it. Prefer the Rimmel one.

Update: If u read the last post, I was kinda contradicting myself with this. I think the difference was the eye cream, which makes application smoother, but smudge faster too... Well, we can't have the best of both worlds, right?

8) Maybelline Unstoppable Eyebrow Pencil
Nah, just an eyebrow pencil.

9) Benefit Blush in Coralista + EcoTools Powder Brush
After using it, I know why Coralista is such a popular blush! It's so nice, on any skin tone! It has shimmer, hence it gives a glow to the cheeks as well. And it smells nice too! I'm converting to be a Benefit Cosmetics fan!!!

10) Benefit Lip Gloss in Friends in High Places (My new favourite lip gloss!!!)
I'm not a lipgloss person, coz I find them too sticky. So far, my last love was the Clarins Sorbet. I finally found somethin better! While the color looked very raspberry, it is in fact very sheer, gives a nice subtle glow to the lips, smells nice and not sticky!

I think I'm really getting good at editing video and writing post. I finish this one in 4 hrs! And reviewing the products on each tutorial is better too, since I will remember my thoughts when I was using them!

Hope you pple like this arrangement! I'm translating an article of bad habits of skin, will post it up soon!

Purple Romance

I know I mentioned in the video, in the info box, but I still like to say one more time, I did this look for attending my friend's wedding.

Since, I pretty much described the products in the info box, I thought I share my thoughts on the products, i.e reviewing them.

1) Benefit Porelessional
This is my first wax based makeup primer, which I think is a lot better than the makeup base, the kind which has different color tones to correct your skin color and comes with SPF, which was rather popular a few years back.
Because of its wax content, it makes the makeup sweat and sebum proof. My face looked less oily and my makeup stayed up longer. My sister who has dry skin, has no problem using it, but do moisturizer your face before applying.

2) Lancome Tient Miracle Foundation + Makeup Show Flat Top Foundation Brush
This is so gonna be my favorite foundation if not for the fact that it doesn't come with lots of shades. I had to take the PO-03, which is the lightest pink shade, and it kinda looked ridiculously on me because my neck is so dark.  Now I don't really care about the "Must match neck colour" coz I get dark easily now these days (What's up with the Singapore sun?) I just use whenever I feel like using it. On a sidenote, my Armani foundation which used to be so dark for turned out to be perfect shade for me now. Even my Bobbi Brown is light for me... Must get fairer!!!

Anyway, reasons for liking it was because I don't feel a thing on my face!!! It makes my skin looked damn good too! I think these 2 reasons are enough for me to like it... Other plus points, it is very easy to apply, despite being so watery, people with dry skin or combination skin can use it.

Can see my face is a little fairer than my neck.
And if u thinking why the top is different from the vid, it's because I changed another outfit after the makeup.

I bought the makeup brush coz it was round. It was pretty stiff at first but after a few applications and washes, it got seasoned and now it is my favorite brush to apply foundation. The hair is very soft, and it get into the sides of my nose pretty well.

3) Lancome Maquicake UV Infinite and TBS Mineral Foundation Brush
I don't like this powder. Period. No matter whether it was applying with brush or sponge, I can feel a thick layer of powder on me, totally different from what they promised, a lightweight foundation. It is a 2-way cake, but I never like water sponging my foundation coz I think it is super dirty. I always use it to cover over my BB cream or Lancome Teint Miracle, lightweight foundation that is. I never tried apply on its own before... hmm.. maybe I should do that and see the effect. Soon soon! Or maybe I use too much??? But I don't think I use that much powder leh...

So, I used it only when I know I had to take photos coz the powder is matt, and matt powder is super good for photos coz it doesn't show shine and makes the face oily. It is sweatproof tho, tried wearing it on a hot day and it didn't budge so much.

I can't mention how many times, but this is my favourite powder brush! It is dense, thick and soft. I can pat it like a sponde and run it on my face like a carpet cleaner. Feels good like a massage. Ha ha. I have a few powder brushes but I keep going back for this one.

4) I Nuovi Eye Base
I bought this because every youtube guru was using an eye primer, so I bought while I was at I Nuovi. I Nuovi is a Singapore homegrown brand. The products apparently had the colours made in France but porduced somewhere la. Need to google more about this coy. Anyway, I quite like the texture, water-to-powder kind. No need to use a lot, coz if use too much, it will look cakey on the eyes.

It does bring out the colour definitely, just see the difference on the colours in this vid and the Vday vid. Looked so much better here, finally bring some grace to this palette.

5) Artistry Silver Makeup Eye and Cheek Palette + Lancome Eyeshadow Brush + in-house dual tips brush+ EcoTools Eyeshadow Brush

The colours need to be showed with help with an eye base, but nonetheless, the power has a nice texture and it doesn't crumble so much.

6) Lancome Waterproof Pencil Eyeliner in Noir
Hmm... a bit hard, need to warm it up before I can draw a smooth line across the eye. It's waterproof, but not sebum proof, so better dust more powder under the eyes to prevent smudging.

7) Lancome Liquid Eyeliner in Noir
Like the pencil, it is just water proof. I expect it to be more potent in its smudge resistant power, but it just go panda eyes on me once my lids is a bit oily. The tip is soft though, pretty easy to control and draw.

8) Maybelline Unstoppable Eyebrow Pencil
Well, just a normal eyebrow pencil. I could do with shadows too, but I'm lazy to use a brush. What I like is the spoolie on the cap so that I can brush my brows. A very common feature in brow pencil.

9) Some cheap eyelash curler I bought donkey years ago, but it is very good for me!
As long as it doesn't bite my lids, is good. I had a free Maybelline eyelash curler which sucks so bad!!!

10) I Nuovi Pro Lash Nu 01 and glue that came with it.
I love this lashes! It is a very natural pair of lash which covers just 3/4 of the eyes. The fibre isn't too stiff and it fits easily to the eyes. However, upon long usage, the bone does go haywire a bit. I reuse it a few times, roughly 4 times.

11) Blush from Artistry and Ecotools Blush Brush
Like the eyeshadow, the texture of the powder is soft and doesn't crumble easily. The color seemed to suit most skin tones but not yellow tones I think.

My favourite blush brush, so soft! Was very tempted to buy the big powder brush of this brand, but a bit too expensive in SG, IMO for something that is so affordable in US.

12) Benefit Bad Gal Lashes
It's not waterproof, but it does give an amazing wing out lashes.

13) Chanel Lipstick in Comedienne
So love this color, matches any eyeshadow colour. Looked good on its own. Love the name even more, coz this is so me.

LOL, my review got shorter and shorter coz I'm tired!! And what a long post! Hope this info is useful for you pple!

TheBalm BatterUp Creaseless Eyeshadows

Yeap, finally updating this video. This is a review on my newest purchase (not exactly new already, since it's been 2 months), TheBalm Cream Eyeshadow. I'm really loving the texture, and seriously, the colour didn't budge even after my jog. Of course, due to my oily eyelids, there was a line formed on the crease.

Since this video was taken almost 2 months ago, I had actually tried this product on different occasions. If paired with an eye primer beforehand, it is going to last until I washed it off.

I really loved how it shimmer without stealing a lot of attention. When I matched with my powder eye-shadows, it adheres and doesn't make my eyes muddy looking.

It comes in 4 colours, Pink, Gold, Brown and Purple. All colours are shimmer. Pink and Gold work well as highlight, while the Brown and Purple do as base colour for smoky eyes. =)

Light Neutral Smoky

Harlow Everybody!!!

The title seemed a bit oxymoronic, coz smoky eyes are usually very intense, but the one I did was really so light that it was as if I had nothing on. But if you see the before and after, there's really a great difference!!! I looked more awake and less sick.

Most of the time I went really light on my strokes, hence the hardly can see colors. If I were to use a heavier hand, the look will be smokier, and it will be really suitable for a date night. =)

I hope you all enjoy this look!

[Update] Finally, got the photo. It was on a card, hence the lousy quality. I looked like I don't have makeup on, but if I didn't have any, myface would be oily, skin lack lustre, spots all over. Acne marks a lot these days... Here's the photo!!!

Hardly any makeup on...

Taiwan Magic Shop Nose Peel Review

Hi Hi Everyone

I was to do my monthly peel so I thought I do a video and show you people the result. Frankly, this is the second brand of nose peel that I had purchased this year, so compared to the usual drug store nose peel, I prefer this as I can control the area and where I want to peel.

I remember a long time ago, I did buy a similar nose pack from TheFaceShop, the mungbean one I think and I didn't quite like it. Can't remember why, but in the end I had to throw the whole tube away because it had gone bad, or rather, the content was separated into oil and clay.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Cleaning Makeup Brushes

Hi everyone! I finally filmed and uploaded the vid on brush cleaning! I used to use facial cleanser to wash my brushes until I saw this affordable cleaning agent at Daiso. Daiso is really my price friendly heaven.

I like to use a cup, because I find it easier to contain the brushes and it saved a lot of water since it doesn;t involve brushes going under running water!

RIP, My fav old makeup

Hi Hi Everybody!

This is like a post mortem of my old makeup, heh heh. Most of them are my favorite items, especially the lip gloss. I was babbling a bit, so what I meant was the lip gloss used to smell really nice and tasted a bit sweet, but now after using for such a long time, all these qualities are gone. The lip gloss is not too sticky, has a very smooth consistency. The applicator is so so bah, coz I don't really bother about applicators.

I love the lipstick color, looks like an enhanced version of my natural lip color with shine. It applied on quite smoothly, but I do recommend putting some lip balm to prep the lip first.

As for the eyeshadow, it wasn't exactly my favorite. I bought this set of colors because I don't have pink! Really lame reasons to buy, but I found out it complements with brown really well! Among all the shades, I like the highlight color most, the other two shades, I can do without. The texture is really smooth, and it has little sheen to it.

The mascara works really well, giving my eyelashes the much needed volume until it decides to dry up and clump on me, after 3 -4 months. Is it the normal shelf life on a mascara?

DIY Magnetic Makeup Palette

Hi Everyone. This is my ideal makeup palette! Heh heh, inspired by all the other magnetic palettes tho. I did search on DIY Makeup Palette after I created this video and I saw a lot using CD cases, which I thought was really environmental friendly! Shame on me for buying the metal case, but it was too cute not to buy!

Basically, I decided to do it myself because I was too cheapo to buy MAC or Z Palette, and with many gurus' reviews, they ain't that sturdy. Unii Palette was out of my budget and I really don't need another mirror. So I thought why not I do one good one myself.

I thought of using glue, but it didn't appeal to me as reusable, so I searched high and low for the magnetic stripe. And after I searched on youtube, do I realise there's a magnetic paper. Super mountain tortoise me.

Hope you all enjoy this tutorial and let me me know what you think!

Bobbi Brown Makeup Lessons

I went to redeem my remaining 3 lessons with B.Brown at Robinson, Raffles Place today. I didn't specify a makeup artist, so it was quite randomly selected.

I have to say her skills was not that great, and she poked my eyes three times, twice with eyeshadow brush and once with mascara. I realized I too good tempered already, I should have be fiercer to her after the second time. Her sorry wasn't sincere enough.

Still, I learnt a great deal. I finally know why my smoky eyes always failed big time. Instead of brushing on the outer corner, but higher a bit, I always start at the end of the eyes, which will make my eyes look more droopy. After she reminded me, I sort of had a small epiphany, "Orh.... No wonder"

I was quite bad at the eyeshadow part that she gave up on letting me draw on myself, and completed the whole look for me. Tsk tsk, isn't these makeup lessons suppose to correct my mistakes? I did have some hands on, but not much. Just the eyebrow and dusting an allover shadow.

I quite like the eye color she picked for me: A light pink, shimmer purple and black. =) The lip was plum berry i think. Pretty much close to my original lip color. However, I think she applied more strongly on my left eye then on the right. I didn't notice it until I saw it in the washroom, but since I already left, and I didn't want to risk her poking my eyes more, I just left it as it is.

I shall go practice more on my smoky eyes.

Denim and Rose Palette

From left up down to right in a U-shape: Navajo (Eye), Gray Denim (Eye), Cool Rose (Creamy Lip), Iced Lilac (Lip Gloss), Hot Rose (Lip Gloss), Indie Rose (Creamy Lip), Dark Rinse (Eye), Pink Granite (Eye). The bigger pan in the middle is the blush in Pink Rose.

This Denim and Rose Palette from Bobbi Brown was the Fall 2010 collection. I love love love it! I could do a day look, or night look, just using this palette. For the size of a palm, it really packed a lot of goodies inside!!! It contains 4 eye shadows which 2 are matte and 2 shimmer, 1 blush, 2 lip glosses and 2 lip colours! So, if I ever go travelling, all I need is to bring my foundation, eyeliner ands travel brushes and I'm good to go!

So the day I was doing this makeup look, I was going to the Chippendale show at RWS Singapore. I figured all the women going there was going to dress up, so I decided to wear a dress instead of my usual T-shirt and jeans. I wore a denim dress, which was a perfect match to use the eyeshadows!

I wanted something chic and maybe a little sultry (which means smoky eyes!!!) looking makeup, the denim eye shadow really put a punch of color to my lid. Not the usual boring kind, you know?

Steps:

  1. I used the Anna Sui Eye Brightener to highlight my eye area. It doubles up as a primer too.
  2. I shade the socket area with the Gray Denim and a flat eye brush.
  3. Using a contour brush, I smudge the gray color to give a smoky effect.
  4. Using the flat eye brush, I picked up the Dark Rinse and shade them on my lid only.
  5. I used Navajo as my highlight on my brow bone, using a soft brush with long bristles.
  6. Tight-line my upper and lower waterlines with black waterproof eyeliner pencil.
  7. With a cotton bud, I picked up the Gray Denim again and set them over the lower eyeliner, and shading a little on the outer edge to smoke it up. =)
  8. Color my inner corner with a white eye pencil. This will act as a base for the next color I would put on. Makes my eyes look brighter and more alert looking too. Blend using ring finger.
  9. Picking up the Pink Granite with a small flat eye brush, I set it over the white eyeliner.
  10. Using the waterproof eyeliner pencil, I draw on over my lashline, to make the lashes appear fuller. Fade a bit at the tail end.
  11. Draw my brows.
  12. I didn't realize my camera was shut off, so the remaining steps are just mascara, blush and lips. For my lips, I used the Indie Rose, and blush is Pink Rose, both are from the palette.
Let me know what you think of this look in the comment box! Thank you!

Night Time Beauty Routine

Oops, I delayed my post once again. I really salute the gurus who hold a full-time job yet manage to upkeep their channel! I strive to be them!!!

Okie, this video is about my beauty routine, just sharing a few products that I used. Here's the review about them.

Pure Beauty Super Brightening Toner
I like this toner a lot. It smells nice, and the texture is very smooth. Unlike other toner which contains a lot of alcohol, this one is not and does not sting the face.

Lancome Genefique
This works what it promised. Although it can't reduce my pores, but I definitely feel a difference in my skin texture. A little goes a long way!

Elizabeth Arden White Glove Extreme (Eye Cream)
My current favorite eye cream! It is not oily, and it gets absorbed super fast! I do not have to wait for long before applying my makeup or anything. It is a bit hard to squeeze the tube though.

TheFaceShop Raspberry Roots Sleeping Mask
Very hydrating somehow, although it is suppose to work more like firming. I do see firming effect on my face if I include the 100 slaps massage. =)

Lancome Beauty Institute - Genifique Youth Activating Treatment

I felt what it was really like to be a diva! Making good use of the Lancome complimentary facial, I booked an appointment with them for the facial.

I am no newbie to facial, but damn, Lancome really change my definition of a really good facial service!

When I arrived at the place, the place was nicely decorated and well-designed. Nothing over the top. A lady promptly attended to me. She served a cup of their tea while I filled in the necessary details on a form. Shortly after, I was led to their counter where she did a series of tests on me, using Lancome propietaty skin analysis machine, the lady asked me what were my skin concerns first, before doin the tests. They were about 4 to 5 strobes, one is a magnifier which can view 60times, a strobe to test skin elasticity, one to test eyes, one on the skin conditions (oily or dry), and one to.. that's about all I can remember.

She explained to me after each individual tests about my skin condition. At the end, there was a summary and how my skin fared compared to the average. I only have 2 problems, big pores and not so firm skin. A while later, I was introduced to my beauty assistant, Connie, who was going to pamper my skin!

I was lead to a room, about the size of a MRT toilet! Super big and comfy, it is white all over and a light which is changeable. And I think I know how Lady Ga Ga felt when she was inside the egg, because on the ceiling, there was this oval shaped, white piece of decoration. I was definitely in a roomier egg! With soothing music and huge bed!!

Connie started by giving my shoulder, hands and legs a quick massage. Then she proceeded to cleanse and exfoliate my face, toner, moisturiser etc. This took about 20 mins. Then came the big boy, Genifique Youth Activating Serum. She used half a bottle, and I believed her, even though I didn't see it myself. But she applied like 2 layers of really concentrated serum on me, and there was a tingling sensation. She told me it was normal since it was so much more than what we usually used. After applying the second layer, she used an ultrasound strobe to roll all over my face. This was to help the serum penetrate better. This process took about 15 mins. While waiting, I went to dreamland, and was stirred awoke by my own snores. Totally spoiled the tranquility.

It didn't end here! After the serum, she put on the Genifique mask on me and laid for about 20mins. And off I went to dream land again.

The last step was massaging my face to allow the mask serum to sink in, and then applying toner and moisturizer.

The whole thing felt really good, and I really enjoyed the privacy. The staff were well groomed and spoke very professionally. Seriously, compared to my current facial center that I am visiting now where their beds are half the size, is a HUGE difference already!

I'm totally sold! I see if I can get pictures on my next visit.

Sweet and Sexy Valentine's Day Look

I know I know, I'm not sexy, but I'm talking about the look lah. Anyway, after watching the vid nth times, I think it is an epic fail! Ha ha. Jiat lat Jiat lat somemore!

This post is way too late for Vday. Just post for fun for laughter lah, =D.

My friends have gave me very encouraging comments about my channel. Things that I really need to improve on is START TALKING! Seems that the narration is very essential, coz they eyes can only focus on either my action or the words.

Alrighty, let's go!

Chinese New Year look

Finally, I'm writing this post on my Chinese New Year Look. I had this idea of using red and gold colors for it. For the eyes, it is gold being the main color, and brown to pair it up and give it a more classic look. Then I use peach red on the cheeks, because LNY is usually during a cold weather which makes those people living there have really red cheeks! That's also why they and we have steamboat! We get red cheeks from those steaming hot soup too! ^_^ And for the lips, I keep it down with a little orange hue lippy.

The look can be paired with a red lip too, then to complement red lips, the cheeks have to be a little more subtle such as using a bronzer and apply them under the cheek bones instead of on the cheeks.

I have to talk about this wonderful product, Lancome Maquicake UV Infinite. I am so in love with this powder because it is sweat-proof! Very good for me who is a sweaty piggy! I can use tissue to dab infinitely and the powder doesn't smear so much!

Check Lancome Singapore videos in Facebook! They did experiments with this compact. =)

Angelina Jolie inspired look from The Tourist

Hi, finally uploaded this vid. I was experimenting with the voiceover, and I really suck at picture description (I recorded it while looking at the video). I tried talking while doing my makeup but I failed terribly, coz I couldn't speak and do the makeup at the same time. Heh, talk about women being multitaskers... So, in the end, I swap my voiceover with song and type notes on the vid..

Anyway, I did a simpler version compared to the one she wore in the movie. It is less smoky and really wearable for everyday look, eh, less time consuming too. The 2 colors, Smoke and Cement were from my favorite Bobbi Brown duo palette. I had used the smoke eyeshadow to fill in my brow, so I can bring one item less if I go out with this look and wanna touch up. Heh heh.

Have fun!

Nature Republic Review

Right, this post came up so much later than my tube, but nevertheless, it's up! Pardon my gibberish in the vid, I;m still trying to adjust to talking to myself in front of the mirror. Here's the summary and neater review of what I commented. ;)

Nail Colors
Plus factors: Vibrant color, price-friendly, small and slim bottle for easy storage
Minus factors: Need at least 2 coats to achieve smooth and even surface, non quick dry

Nail Polish Remover
Plus factors: Nice smell, remove nail color effectively
Minus factors: Quantity can be much more

Hand Cream (White Lily Freesia)
Plus factors: Very hydrating, nice smell,
Minus factors: Nozzle cap is screwed on, which is a hindrance. I like the flip cap more. Price-unfriendly.

Night Time Beauty Tips

I saw these tips published on the MyPaper 5 Jan 2011. I thought it was pretty neat and really, we all need good reminders why we should sleep early and not doing a Korean drama marathon. I don't anyway, but watching too many beauty youtubes ain't helping.

1. Choose the right time to sleep

Our metabolism is at its prime during 10pm to 2am, hence we should really strive to sleep before 11pm and at least 8 hours. This way, our skin will get the best care from our body itself.

2. Mask, the key to fight dehydration

Dehydration is the biggest problem our skin encounters at night, so cultivate a good habit and do mask every night. The skin will be nourished and hydrated! Massage the face first before placing your mask, it helps the skin to absorb more goodness.

3. Eye cream

I'm sure most of us apply eye cream and moisturizer at night, before we sleep. But if we coupled with some gentle massages around the eye area, it helps to improve blood circulation and minimize dark eye rings, eye bags and swollen eye. Dark eye circles are actually bruises under the eye, and we usually massage the area where we get blue-blacks right?

4. Night protection for lips

Night time is the time when our lips get to rest after a day of eating, talking and kissing (those lucky ones). So why not give the lips a good jacuzzi style treatment? Use a soft toothbrush gently scrub away those dead skins and then apply lip balm to nourish and hydrate. Some lip treatment comes with both scrub and balm, which is good too.

5. Do not apply too many products before sleep.

A simple dose of essence and moisturizer is good enough for the skin's self repair. More importantly, let the skin breathe!

6. Switch off the light

Our skin reacts to light. When it sense light, the cells will be on standby mode, to contract and release. The skin will not get the best out of those products nutrients then.

7. Avoid coffee or tea at night
To get a well rest, avoid drinks with caffeine bed time. Dim lights and lavender scent helps to promote better sleep too. For water, drink at least 2 hours before you sleep to avoid swollen eyes the next day.

Hope these helps!

Makeup for Photos

Finally, a third video! I did this vid as I need to take photos for making my passport, and who doesn't want to look nice on passport right? I spent about 1 hr doing the whole makeup, but I edited the main parts out into an 8 mins clip. I quite like this look, simple, but a lot of focus on the eyes, and my brows. I thicken the eyeliner as I want my eyes to look balanced (one is longer the other is rounder.)I did put a little too much highlight in the end, but thank goodness I did, because the photo became black & white in the passport, =_=, so can't see any color except the highlight (shine).

Please comment!

Beauty Routine for Work & My Daily Makeup

Finally... I have 2 clips up for viewing!!! As it was my first time, I was still trying to figure out the crooks and crannies (is this the way to say it?) For example, the speed of the clip, or rather my own speed, the quality of the clip (definitely a lot of room for improvements), the way I show my makeup (I think I just wanna be different from the rest of those makeup channels, display my personality in it, heh heh).

When I first put up these clips, and saw myself, I thought it was so weird, watching myself where I used to watch Michelle Phan or Marleena from MakeUpGeek in the YouTube interface. Then, later I realized, I was actually showing whole world my little private ritual for every morning, something which my sisters don't even get to see in real life.

Beauty Routine for Work
This is the facial routine that I do on work day morning. The only thing I didn't do on weekends was using the BB cream. If I'm going out, I'll use my foundation, for better coverage.

My Daily Makeup
So this is the makeup I put on for my work. I try to be as basic and as simple and as natural as possible. I worked with a lot of guys, so putting too much makeup might make me look a little too ladylike. Well, I'm an engineer and you know what they says about female engineers. And to be truthful, I really have female engineer friends who don't dress up. The last one I put makeup on for her forgot she had makeup on.

Please comment after watching so that I can improve!!! Thanks!!! One thing I notice about myself is frown less smile more. I look so unhappy doing those vids hor?

P/S: It's "Nook and cranny". =)

Happy 2011!!!

Hello! Welcome to FnF! This is a new blog that I started to show you all my beauty regime, new makeup tips and tips for a more beautiful you. I'm a beauty junkie and I really love dolly myself out, although I was quite a tom boy 6 or 7 years back. Under the influence of my girlfriends, I decide to embrace my feminine side and make myself look really good!

Why is this blog called Flabbulous N Fatastic? It is a pun marriage between the words Flab and Fat with Fabulous and Fantastic, because fat people can look good too, even with the flab and fat. More importantly, it holds on to the idea that we should love ourselves for who we are and what we have. Well, I'm a plus size girl, weighing at 82 kg (as of today) and my height is only 158cm. That makes my BMI about 33??? Since young, I always thought I'm too fat to do anything girly, like no makeup, no pretty clothes, no dress or skirts, no high heels., when in fact it is actually the low self esteem at work. But when I see how I looked so much better with good fittings clothes, correct makeup, I realized, being fat doesn't mean I can't do all these. In the past, I can't was because people discriminate and large sizes were really hard to find. But not anymore, many girls like me, who insist on being pretty irregardless of our sizes, decided to be their own bosses and sell pretty large size clothes, and voila, we have nicer clothes now!

I feel that our skin and facial features are also different from those skinny or slim girls, so I started this blog to show some make-up techniques or beauty regime which might cater solely to us, but of course, most of them are still generic and works for most of us. I mean, which girl doesn't yearn for a slimmer face?

I'll try to do vid for tutorials, but as I'm quite new in this, I might look awfully awkward  or look really unnatural. So please bear with me, and more importantly, support me! Thanks!

My first tutorial will be on makeup, so do watch out this space!!! Thanks!

Btw, I'm not encouraging fat to be fatter, in fact, being healthy is most important. Don't let fat be the excuse to stop exercising, exercise is good for our heart! It doesn't have to be losing weight every time, is more about working the heart, making it stronger!
