Hi, finally uploaded this vid. I was experimenting with the voiceover, and I really suck at picture description (I recorded it while looking at the video). I tried talking while doing my makeup but I failed terribly, coz I couldn't speak and do the makeup at the same time. Heh, talk about women being multitaskers... So, in the end, I swap my voiceover with song and type notes on the vid..
Anyway, I did a simpler version compared to the one she wore in the movie. It is less smoky and really wearable for everyday look, eh, less time consuming too. The 2 colors, Smoke and Cement were from my favorite Bobbi Brown duo palette. I had used the smoke eyeshadow to fill in my brow, so I can bring one item less if I go out with this look and wanna touch up. Heh heh.
Have fun!

Nature Republic Review
Right, this post came up so much later than my tube, but nevertheless, it's up! Pardon my gibberish in the vid, I;m still trying to adjust to talking to myself in front of the mirror. Here's the summary and neater review of what I commented. ;)
Nail Colors
Plus factors: Vibrant color, price-friendly, small and slim bottle for easy storage
Minus factors: Need at least 2 coats to achieve smooth and even surface, non quick dry
Nail Polish Remover
Plus factors: Nice smell, remove nail color effectively
Minus factors: Quantity can be much more
Hand Cream (White Lily Freesia)
Plus factors: Very hydrating, nice smell,
Minus factors: Nozzle cap is screwed on, which is a hindrance. I like the flip cap more. Price-unfriendly.

Night Time Beauty Tips
I saw these tips published on the MyPaper 5 Jan 2011. I thought it was pretty neat and really, we all need good reminders why we should sleep early and not doing a Korean drama marathon. I don't anyway, but watching too many beauty youtubes ain't helping.
1. Choose the right time to sleep
Our metabolism is at its prime during 10pm to 2am, hence we should really strive to sleep before 11pm and at least 8 hours. This way, our skin will get the best care from our body itself.
2. Mask, the key to fight dehydration
Dehydration is the biggest problem our skin encounters at night, so cultivate a good habit and do mask every night. The skin will be nourished and hydrated! Massage the face first before placing your mask, it helps the skin to absorb more goodness.
3. Eye cream
I'm sure most of us apply eye cream and moisturizer at night, before we sleep. But if we coupled with some gentle massages around the eye area, it helps to improve blood circulation and minimize dark eye rings, eye bags and swollen eye. Dark eye circles are actually bruises under the eye, and we usually massage the area where we get blue-blacks right?
4. Night protection for lips
Night time is the time when our lips get to rest after a day of eating, talking and kissing (those lucky ones). So why not give the lips a good jacuzzi style treatment? Use a soft toothbrush gently scrub away those dead skins and then apply lip balm to nourish and hydrate. Some lip treatment comes with both scrub and balm, which is good too.
5. Do not apply too many products before sleep.
A simple dose of essence and moisturizer is good enough for the skin's self repair. More importantly, let the skin breathe!
6. Switch off the light
Our skin reacts to light. When it sense light, the cells will be on standby mode, to contract and release. The skin will not get the best out of those products nutrients then.
7. Avoid coffee or tea at night
To get a well rest, avoid drinks with caffeine bed time. Dim lights and lavender scent helps to promote better sleep too. For water, drink at least 2 hours before you sleep to avoid swollen eyes the next day.
Hope these helps!

Makeup for Photos
Finally, a third video! I did this vid as I need to take photos for making my passport, and who doesn't want to look nice on passport right? I spent about 1 hr doing the whole makeup, but I edited the main parts out into an 8 mins clip. I quite like this look, simple, but a lot of focus on the eyes, and my brows. I thicken the eyeliner as I want my eyes to look balanced (one is longer the other is rounder.)I did put a little too much highlight in the end, but thank goodness I did, because the photo became black & white in the passport, =_=, so can't see any color except the highlight (shine).

Beauty Routine for Work & My Daily Makeup
Finally... I have 2 clips up for viewing!!! As it was my first time, I was still trying to figure out the crooks and crannies (is this the way to say it?) For example, the speed of the clip, or rather my own speed, the quality of the clip (definitely a lot of room for improvements), the way I show my makeup (I think I just wanna be different from the rest of those makeup channels, display my personality in it, heh heh).
When I first put up these clips, and saw myself, I thought it was so weird, watching myself where I used to watch Michelle Phan or Marleena from MakeUpGeek in the YouTube interface. Then, later I realized, I was actually showing whole world my little private ritual for every morning, something which my sisters don't even get to see in real life.
Beauty Routine for Work
This is the facial routine that I do on work day morning. The only thing I didn't do on weekends was using the BB cream. If I'm going out, I'll use my foundation, for better coverage.
My Daily Makeup
So this is the makeup I put on for my work. I try to be as basic and as simple and as natural as possible. I worked with a lot of guys, so putting too much makeup might make me look a little too ladylike. Well, I'm an engineer and you know what they says about female engineers. And to be truthful, I really have female engineer friends who don't dress up. The last one I put makeup on for her forgot she had makeup on.
Please comment after watching so that I can improve!!! Thanks!!! One thing I notice about myself is frown less smile more. I look so unhappy doing those vids hor?
P/S: It's "Nook and cranny". =)

Happy 2011!!!
Hello! Welcome to FnF! This is a new blog that I started to show you all my beauty regime, new makeup tips and tips for a more beautiful you. I'm a beauty junkie and I really love dolly myself out, although I was quite a tom boy 6 or 7 years back. Under the influence of my girlfriends, I decide to embrace my feminine side and make myself look really good!
Why is this blog called Flabbulous N Fatastic? It is a pun marriage between the words Flab and Fat with Fabulous and Fantastic, because fat people can look good too, even with the flab and fat. More importantly, it holds on to the idea that we should love ourselves for who we are and what we have. Well, I'm a plus size girl, weighing at 82 kg (as of today) and my height is only 158cm. That makes my BMI about 33??? Since young, I always thought I'm too fat to do anything girly, like no makeup, no pretty clothes, no dress or skirts, no high heels., when in fact it is actually the low self esteem at work. But when I see how I looked so much better with good fittings clothes, correct makeup, I realized, being fat doesn't mean I can't do all these. In the past, I can't was because people discriminate and large sizes were really hard to find. But not anymore, many girls like me, who insist on being pretty irregardless of our sizes, decided to be their own bosses and sell pretty large size clothes, and voila, we have nicer clothes now!
I feel that our skin and facial features are also different from those skinny or slim girls, so I started this blog to show some make-up techniques or beauty regime which might cater solely to us, but of course, most of them are still generic and works for most of us. I mean, which girl doesn't yearn for a slimmer face?
I'll try to do vid for tutorials, but as I'm quite new in this, I might look awfully awkward or look really unnatural. So please bear with me, and more importantly, support me! Thanks!
My first tutorial will be on makeup, so do watch out this space!!! Thanks!
Btw, I'm not encouraging fat to be fatter, in fact, being healthy is most important. Don't let fat be the excuse to stop exercising, exercise is good for our heart! It doesn't have to be losing weight every time, is more about working the heart, making it stronger!
